Who We Are... 

Our organization is comprised of talented, caring, community minded women who are devoted to making their communities a wonderful place to live. For more than 50 years the GFWC Jr. Woman's Club of Springfield has joined together to make a difference through our activities and fundraising. In return for our hard work we have gained amazing friendships and a feeling of accomplishment and self worth.

What We Do

We are an active organization of diverse women from Delaware and Chester Counties who are working together to raise money for many worthwhile causes.   We do this through various fundraising activities throughout the community.This year we are joining forces and working  for our community and the Debbie Pieri Angel Foundation. This wonderful foundation seeks to act in the spirit of its inspiration, the late Debbie Pieri, as a guardian angel to individuals and families who have been severely affected by terminal disease or life altering catastrophe.

We have had a lot of fun finding innovative ways to fundraise. Throughout the years we have giftwrapped at Borders' Books, hosted dances for the area children, held functions such as our Annual Valentine's Day Ball and Easter Eggstravaganza, Fashion Shows, and Silent Auctions. This year we are adding a Monte Carlo Night to our fundraising endeavors. But as much fun as these events have been the more worthwhile part comes from all the organizations we have helped. Some of our past recipients of our efforts have been Mommy's Light, the Delaware County Domestic Abuse Coalition, Delaware County Down Syndrome Interest Group, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Springfield Library and the American Parkinsons' Disease Association.

Message from our President

The GFWC Jr. Woman’s Club of Springfield is an incredible group of dedicated and caring women who strive to make our community a special place. Over the next two years, I am looking forward to working together to help our community thrive, raise money for charity, and continue to build friendships and have fun. The charity I have selected for the 2008—2010 term is the Debbie Pieri Angel Foundation.  This local charity reaches many different kinds of people in need of help. Our fundraising efforts will benefit individuals and families who have been severely affected by terminal disease or life-altering catastrophe.
